Greetings from the Croydon Refugee Day Centre!
We have been incredibly busy at the Tuesday Drop-In since restarting after the summer break, and the last two weeks have seen attendances of over 100, with 86 new people coming in that period, including 33 children; and our Wednesday Family Education Project is now working with more families than ever.
However, our resources are now very low and we are desperately short of the following: –
All non-perishable food – but particularly tinned fish, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit and dried pasta.
New underwear and socks for both men and women
Young adult clothes and trainers; and hats, gloves and scarves that young people are likely to wear
Size 0 – 3 baby clothes. [Most babies we see are new born].
Size 1 and 2 nappies.
Prams/buggies suitable for new born babies.
Wheeled suitcases and backpacks.
Toiletries – particularly shower gel and shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Please note our Household cupboards are full, and we have no more room for bed-linen, duvets, duvet covers, pillows and towels.
Similarly, we have sufficient older adult clothing to keep us going for a few months.
For many of our new clients, their visit to our Drop-In is their first real interaction with a Church……….so we would value your prayers that all of us may be truly Christ-like in our dealings with them.
