Damian Luke is the Leader of Praise House Church based in Central Croydon.
It is a church that is committed to inspire, empower and motivate people, to break down the walls that cause division within communities, developing a determination to build resilience and confidence in individuals, and helping to heal the wounds affecting communities within and outside of Croydon.
As Chair of Together Croydon Churches, Convenor for Croydon Churches Forum (CCF) and one of the Borough Deans in Croydon, Damian’s work extends across the borough of Croydon and beyond, He passionately drives a campaign to promote church unity across diverse church Leaders who are from different social and ethnic backgrounds, by organising forums for ‘honest and frank’ discussions to address and break down those barriers and obstacles that divide, rather than unify.
Damian’s role in the community, brings him into contact and active involvement with the Police, local authority, statutory and faith organisations, providing advice and offering intervention and support to the young and elderly communities across the borough.
In 1989 – 1996, he helped to set up churches across London in such places as Cricklewood, Acton, Seven Sisters, Camden Town and Brixton. He also helped to plant churches in Ghana, Nigeria, Dominica and Guadeloupe.
Damian is married to Sandra and has two teenage children, Daniel and Charis.
